A unique public-private partnership, the Kennedy Center is operated by a division of the Smithsonian but is largely funded by ticket sales and private donations. Visitors can tour the Hall of States and Hall of Nations, the two theaters in the center, as well as view dozens of paintings, sculptures and other works of art. The center offers both a general cafeteria and an elegant restaurant, and close proximity to Georgetown widens the attraction appeal.
