Washington DC - Georgetown

Georgetown is one of the oldest districts of Washington D.C., having gone through many changes from being an elite political neighborhood to a slum across the tracks. Currently, Georgetown is again a kind of upper-class neighborhood with the prestigious Georgetown University Campus and a high-end shopping district.

There is more to do in this area than just shop and sightseeing is a must. The Old Stone House located on M Street is the oldest original structure in Washington, built in 1765. Other interesting places to visit include Dumbarton Oaks where the United Nations was outlined in 1944, and the canalboat rides on mule-drawn barges are good for a little fun.
