Washington DC - Connecticut Avenue Corridor

The Connecticut Avenue Corridor steps into a neighborhood reminiscent of the 1920's and 30's, with its old hotels, parks, and bridges over Rock Creek. Long stretches of row style townhouses line the streets and many monuments dot the way through this historic district just north of the capitol.

The Washington Zoo is found here as well as the Washington National Cathedral which is the sixth largest cathedral in the world, cutting the skyline with its dominant gothic style. Taking some time to stroll through the many parks in this area is a fine thing to do for an afternoon away from the more busy parts of the city.
