Washington DC - Capitol Hill

The Capitol Hill district looks out over the stately view of the National Mall area with an eye for eclectic taste. This charming neighborhood still fixed in 19th century style, offers many cafés and vendors and is a quick walk just away from the main federal attractions.

The district has a great compilation of architecture and a stroll down East Capitol Street toward Lincoln Park is only .7 miles and is quite notable for its architecture. A true must see on any Capitol Hill tour is in the setting of an original 19th-century public food emporium. The famous Eastern Market has been in operation since its construction and one can still select from a wide array of cheeses, fresh fruit, produce, meat, fish, flowers, and baked goods. Also, on Saturdays the activity rolls out onto the sidewalks when local farmers and craftspeople come to the market to sell everything from paintings to photography and produce.
